Thanksgiving '09

We were invited to spend Thanksgiving with Seuao's cousin Manu and his family in Las Vegas last year.  I have to say originally the thought of spending my MOST FAVORITE holiday in Vegas wasn't super appealing to me, but once I got over my own pity party, I started to actually look forward to a holiday without having to cook, no cold weather and time to relax!

We headed south on Wednesday night. Seuao's sister Lanu and her family were already there.

This is Lani (Manu and Eti's oldest daughter) and Ty feeding Trey (Lynn and Lanu's sons)

Seuao and Manu

The cooking started EARLY Thursday morning, but Eti and Lanu took over it all! I'll admit - It was kind of nice to spend the holiday outside of the kitchen! (And I was a little relieved to see a turkey on the table! I just wasn't sure what to expect for a Samoan-style Thanksgiving dinner!)

Just look at this spread!

It was delicious!

We spent the weekend watching football, going shopping (yes - we even hit the early morning Black Friday sale at Walmart), and playing Bingo at the nearby casino. Seuao and I even got to slip away one evening to go to my most favorite Mexican Restaurant (a late anniversary dinner) - Cozymels!

We took the kiddos to a park (something we definitely don't get to do in Logan on Thanksgiving!)

We went to a movie and even went bowling...

We just had a great time - relaxing and enjoying each other's company. Isn't that what Thanksgiving's all about!?!

(Well, that, and LONG car rides home.....  LOVE the sucker stuck to Tessa's head!)
