"I'm TWO!!!!!"

We've been prepping Lily for this day for a few weeks now, and she says it with gusto! "I'm TWO!!!!"

Well, with two-year-old gusto.... Which is usually accompanied by a healthy dose of attitude...

Happy birthday to our Lily Bug!

We had a "Kicky-Mouse" party in Logan last weekend with her cousins.

Yes, we were supposed to have a swimming party, but it was raining! Plan B was Nanny & Papa's family room!

I think it turned out pretty festive anyway!

We had all the typical party ingredients:

Temporary tattoos...
Lots of dancing...
Pin the Bow on Minnie...
Ice cream cone cuppy-cakes that TOTALLY didn't work...
A gumball machine that the kiddos couldn't keep their hands off of...
Oh yeah, and a meltdown as we sang "Happy Birthday..."
Yeah, it was a first-class meltdown...

All in all though - the party was so fun, and most importantly, I think the kids all had a GREAT time!

Today is her actual birthday, and to celebrate, we got to go to Lagoon for my company summer party.

Lily had fun on a few rides with her daddy...

But struggled a little when sailing solo.... (Well, kinda solo - Noah is a GREAT ride buddy!)

Tess was pretty happy chilling in the stroller...

Till she totally crashed out...

Oh, and we did make up for the cake disaster tonight....
You'd think she would have put down the cell phone for the picture? Oh dear - stay tuned for the teenage years...

Happy birthday buggie! We love you!

Father's Day

How could I let Father's Day pass without telling my hubby how much I love and appreciate him! This picture is SO typical of his patience and love for his "angels."
We spent the day in Logan and even though Wow didn't get to use his "new to him" golf clubs that weekend, he helped deliver and install my Dad's gift - a new recliner! I think I see a smile on that face!

Happy Father's Day to the two men who mean the most to me in my world. I love you!

Children's Parade

Our cute ward did a children's parade last Friday. We had so much fun decorating the wagon and riding through the neighborhood!

I was kind of joking (kind of not) that we need to just bring the wagon to church with us every week! These girls just sat there good as gold!

Lily even figured out how to blow the horn!

I smell a little band geek on the rise!

Seuao even got off work in time to join up with us half-way through!

Such a fun night!

Thinkin'

I don't like thinking.

Let me rephrase... I don't like thinking about MYSELF. When it comes to all matters about me, I'm very much a surface gal. Deep thoughts - I just don't go there.

Call it denial? Call it ignorance? Call it what you will, I just don't like it.

But lately, I have been doing a lot of it. There is so much to improve. Things I didn't realize needed improving. But when I take an honest look at myself, they are things I know I can change.

Things that NEED to change.

Ok - enough thinking....

Baby Phoebe!

Little Phoebe Alexis was born this morning around 9:30 a.m. She was 7 pounds 14 ounces and 20 inches long. She is a beauty.

As you can see the family is all doing great!

(But seriously, does any family deserve to look this good this soon after having a baby?)

Not so fast....

I’ll admit it – I was proud of us yesterday. After an incredibly busy Saturday, early morning church really wasn’t sounding like a lot of fun. But, when the alarm went off, I got up and ready. When the girls woke up, I fed them, bathed them, dressed them and even did their hair. The diaper bag was LOADED and we headed off – on time even!

Lily only needed me for about 5 minutes when we got into nursery. She was happy and content while I slipped out to go to Relief Society. Tessa charmed all the old ladies with her happy smile and chubby cheeks. During Sunday School, she took a lovely nap, cuddled on my shoulder.

I was a little nervous going into Sacrament Meeting after going through three fruit snacks, an entire sippy cup of juice and two time-outs the day before during a half-hour baptismal service with Miss Lily, but she surprised me yesterday! Not once did she fuss, pout, cry, stomp, squeal or injure herself. She sat quietly, mostly reading her books and eating fruit snacks.

Sacrament meeting was wrapping up, we were singing the closing song, and I was congratulating myself on not just enduring three hours of church, but feeling like things went well, REALLY well!

Maybe too well…..

Three minutes before the meeting ended, Lily was rummaging though the diaper bag and pulled out Tessa’s bottle. In one split second, the entire contents of the bottle ended up on her, on me and all over the floor.

*Sigh
