Not so fast....

I’ll admit it – I was proud of us yesterday. After an incredibly busy Saturday, early morning church really wasn’t sounding like a lot of fun. But, when the alarm went off, I got up and ready. When the girls woke up, I fed them, bathed them, dressed them and even did their hair. The diaper bag was LOADED and we headed off – on time even!

Lily only needed me for about 5 minutes when we got into nursery. She was happy and content while I slipped out to go to Relief Society. Tessa charmed all the old ladies with her happy smile and chubby cheeks. During Sunday School, she took a lovely nap, cuddled on my shoulder.

I was a little nervous going into Sacrament Meeting after going through three fruit snacks, an entire sippy cup of juice and two time-outs the day before during a half-hour baptismal service with Miss Lily, but she surprised me yesterday! Not once did she fuss, pout, cry, stomp, squeal or injure herself. She sat quietly, mostly reading her books and eating fruit snacks.

Sacrament meeting was wrapping up, we were singing the closing song, and I was congratulating myself on not just enduring three hours of church, but feeling like things went well, REALLY well!

Maybe too well…..

Three minutes before the meeting ended, Lily was rummaging though the diaper bag and pulled out Tessa’s bottle. In one split second, the entire contents of the bottle ended up on her, on me and all over the floor.

*Sigh

At least it was at the end of church! Good job making it through so well. We'll take the good days gladly when we get them, right? It's all I can do to keep my children seated and not fighting. Nevermind the loud talking, crying, whining, kicking benches, constant movement.

Is it bad that I am somewhat happy that I witnessed this blessed event? Yeah... kinda. I felt your pain. Next time we are sitting together. :)

Been there! We actually had throw-up (not spit-up) in the middle of Sacrament meeting once. I feel your pain!
