Happy Birthday Tessa! September 18, 2010

Tess didn't have much say in what her party was going to be this year. She really isn't allowed much of an opinion as to what she likes - Lily is pretty domineering in that respect, so it being fall, I thought an apple party would be fun!

We had the party at Granny & Papa's backyard in Logan. I decorated with red, lime green and brown.

Yep, the birthday girl gets "decorated" too!
We played a few apple games:

Pouted, just a little...

Read One Apple Up On Top;

(Still not happy it's not HER party....)
Sang some apple songs and gave CDs to everyone to take on the road while we went to a real apple orchard!

Everyone loved picking apples and playing for a little while!

Umm, until she fell off the bottom of the slide...

When we got back, we made caramel apples - or we tried to anyway - the caramel overcooked a little and was SUPER thick...

We had apple pie filling-filled yellow cupcakes with cinnamon buttercream frosting and of course, apple juice!

From mommy & daddy, Tessa got a "real" baby that cries and laughs. She LOVES taking care of babies, so she immediately took to this new little one!

This party was so much fun! Just perfect for the "apple of our eye" - sorry - couldn't resist!

Noah Turns Three! September 11, 2010

I cannot think of a more loyal, adorable and funny lover of Thomas the Tank Engine than our own Noah. So of course, his birthday party was all about Thomas! And the grand finale.... a nearly-full-sized Thomas!

Lexy made this amazing shirt - isn't it darling!

I love that they were just sitting together like this to watch the pinata!

Labor Day / Children's Museum '10

After all of the summer traveling for birthdays and such, we decided to have a low-key Labor Day and stick close to home. Through my work, I had a pass to the Children's Museum, so we thought we'd try it out. I'd say we had a good time!

Happy First Birthday, Sabrina - August 28, 2010

Happy Birthday little Sabrina! She's the youngest of this batch of kiddos, and Beck & Lance had a fun button-breakfast party at their house for her. She's such a cutie pie!

Lily never held still long enough to get a picture!  This is about all we get of her...

Love the photo bombs!

Traditions

We have some pretty serious hard-core traditions in my family - mostly around holidays, but I'm finding that even small things can become tradition with just my girls. Take for instance our Saturdays.

After we get chores done at home in the morning, we'll head to the gym. The girls LOVE playing there, and while I wish I could say I love being there too, it's good to get it out of the way!

Then we go grocery shopping, then to Costco. E.V.E.R.Y. Saturday. This is usually a 4-5 hour journey, so by the end, the girls are beat, and so am I! I'm in no mood to go home, unload everything and make lunch, so Costco pizza and hot dogs it is!

They look forward to this every time, and love it! And the best part of the day - finally getting home for a nap. Phew!
